Summer in the Arcachon Bay has a rare elegance: that of simple things enhanced by the light. What’s on in Arcachon this summer? Let yourself be swept along by a programme of events that blends sport, culture and the art of living, just a stone’s throw from Pereire Beach.
The 18 Heures à la Voile: 5 and 6 July
On the first weekend of July, the Arcachon Basin becomes the setting for the largest regatta in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Organised since 1969 by the Cercle de la Voile d’Arcachon, Les 18 Heures à la Voile brings together over 100 boats and 450 sailors in a breathtaking nautical spectacle. From a terrace facing the horizon, the spectacle takes on a whole new dimension: white sails silhouetted against the blue, trails of foam, a breeze laden with the scent of the sea. A moment suspended in time that heralds the start of summer in style.
The Great Summer Concerts at the Velodrome: July and August
Since 2001, the Arcachon Velodrome has welcomed leading artists every summer under the starry sky. The 2026 programme promises intense evenings with Suzane on 3 August and Mika on 4 August. Two worlds, two energies, the same shared enthusiasm in the balmy air of a summer’s night. For those planning a luxury stay in Arcachon this summer of 2026, these dates fit perfectly into a weekend where music extends the languid days spent on the sand.
The Jumping des Sables: on Pereire Beach
There is something singularly poetic about watching horses gallop across the sand at low tide. The Jumping des Sables transforms Pereire Beach into a temporary equestrian arena, where the elegance of dressage meets the power of the derby. A spectacular event, to be experienced literally from the windows of the Pereire Suites, offering a rare vantage point for this sporting feat.
The Fêtes de la Mer: 14 and 15 August
In mid-August, Arcachon reconnects with its maritime roots. The Fêtes de la Mer take over the seafront for two days of celebrations: a giant picnic facing the waves, a colourful nautical parade and the living traditions of the Arcachon Bay. You can spot the locals by their yellow scarves, the hallmark of this warm and welcoming festival. Among the events in the Arcachon Basin this summer, this one remains the most authentic, the most deeply rooted in the soul of the town.
A summer to savour from Arcachon’s finest address
Every event feels all the more special when you can then retreat to the tranquillity of a suite with a view, slip into a jacuzzi overlooking the Bassin, or extend the evening by the heated pool. At Les Suites Pereire, a 5-star hotel in Arcachon, summer is experienced with that discreet elegance that makes all the difference. The fifteen suites — each with a private terrace, décor by Sarah Lavoine and exceptional bedding — form a refined retreat between two excursions.
It looks set to be a wonderful season. All you need to do is choose your dates and book your suite to make the most of it.
